SUBJ:	Incident Response Drill Follow-up -008/07

1.     I would like to extend a hearty Bravo Zulu to all members who were
able to participate in this past weekend's incident response drill.  The
drill was a simulated surge operation very similar to the kind of tasking
that we would receive in the event of a major incident.  You, the members of
First Southern, responded in amazing numbers!  It will take several days to
finalize our statistics, but the preliminary numbers are outstanding.  It
appears as though we had approximately 200 members participating on Friday,
350 on Saturday, and about 250 on Sunday!!!  These members were involved in
program visits, vessel examinations, maritime domain awareness patrols,
safety patrols, air patrols, radio patrols and the staffing of fixed radio
facilities and command centers.

2.     The event proved that we can respond on short notice to a surge need.
In the coming days, we will conduct a number of de-briefing sessions.  If
you participated, it is important that we get your feedback so that we can
continue to sharpen our skills.  

3.     As with all important tasks, no job is complete until the paperwork
is done!!  Please be sure to get all of your reports into AuxData as soon as
possible.

4.     Finally, thank you for the great effort with this drill and all of
the work that you continue to do for the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Coast
Guard and our Great Nation!  Bravo Zulu!!

5.	The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First
Southern abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
