Subj:	Help Wanted Sandy Hook Housing -003/07


1.     This winter the Coast Guard housing at Sandy Hook suffered some
extensive damage from the winter weather.  While members were evacuated due
to severe storms, power was lost and as a result several pipes froze and
burst causing damage to plumbing, electrical and drywall.  

2.     Sector NY Facilities Engineering is looking for help to get these
facilities back into shape before the summer transfer season and they are
requesting our assistance.  Members from the local area who are available to
work on an as needed basis during the week are requested to reply.  

3.     Additionally we are scheduling a blitz weekend where members could
arrive Friday evening, 4 May, or Saturday morning 5 May, and work through
Sunday 6 May.  

4.     Travel and lodging will be funded/provided if needed.  Carpenters,
plumbers and electricians are requested as well as non-skilled personnel
willing to assist.

5.     Members who can assist in any capacity are requested to contact YN2
Ed Matthews at 212-668-7990 or Edwin.Matthews at uscg.mil. Provide your name,
trade or skill, when you can assist and if you need lodging (provide the
exact dates lodging needed) and if you request travel orders.

6.     The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First
Southern abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
