Subj:   Changes; Ships Store, DSO - 011/06


1.    I am very pleased to announce a new change in the operation of our
District Store.  The District Store will now actually be run by the Coast
Guard Auxiliary Association at the AuxCen.  You may now purchase online
using either the link from our web site (http://www.cgaux1sr.org) or the
National web site (http://www.shopauxiliary.com).

2.     You will also be able to shop by faxing or mailing an order in.  The
order form is posted on our 1SR web site.

This new arrangement has several major advantages:
- The District will no longer have to carry as much inventory
-  We will also not need to deal with the accounting related to collecting
sales tax
- The National inventory is substantial so back orders should be minimized
- Shipping is generally done within 24 hours
- Pricing will be competitive across the country

3.     We believe that this arrangement will serve our members well.

4.     I want to take this opportunity to also announce the appointment of
Ken Gainer as our new DSO-MA.  Ken has been an ADSO-MA for many years and
will do an excellent job in this new assignment.

5.     I want to extend a most sincere thanks to Gregg Trask and his team
for all of their  work in this time of transition.  Gregg is also
congratulated for his recent appointment as the National Department Chief of
Personnel.

5.  The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First Southern
abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
