1.	As we pause and reflect on the fourth anniversary of the terrorist
attacks of September 11, 2001, let us remember one of our own, Gregory
Sikorsky, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his country on
September 11, 2001. Gregory Sikorsky, U.S Coast Guard Auxiliary, 35, died
Sept. 11, 2001, during the collapse of the World Trade Center. He was a
volunteer firefighter for the Hillcrest, N.Y. Fire Department. He was a
veteran of the Marine Corps Reserve and of the Persian Gulf War. A member of
the Coast Guard Auxiliary since 1995, he was in Division 10 in the 1st
District Southern Region. He is survived by his wife, Maria; a son Steven. A
Memorial Mass was held Oct. 20, 2001 at Saint Boniface Roman Catholic Church
in New York. 

2.	I extend my gratitude to each and everyone of you who served your
country in support of the tragic events of September 11, 2001. While these
terrorist events were devastating, the response from our personnel was
overwhelming. You have demonstrated the true spirit of what it means to be
an American.

3.	The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First
Southern abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
