SUBJ:		HURRICANE RELIEF OPS -052/05

1. True to the nature of our organization I have received many offers for
support in the wake of Hurricane Katrina and I thank you.  At this point we
are compiling a list of all those interested in volunteering and in what
capacity you are willing to assist. DDO-OMS Steve Ackerman is organizing
this effort.  If you are interested in volunteering contact him with your
information including what your specialty is, and when you are available.
The need for volunteers may be immediate or long term during recovery ops.
At this time there has been no tasking requested or assigned to D1SR.

2. FEMA has requested assistance and is looking for personnel to assist at
this time for a minimum of a two week period.  This effort would not be in
an Auxiliary capacity. Volunteers would be trained and compensated by FEMA.

3. An ALLAUX with more information on these programs will follow, but please
remember before volunteering that this tasking will likely be physically
demanding and may include long hours. POC for both programs is Steve

4.	The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First
Southern abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
