SUBJ: Wreath laying at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier -60/05
1. Through the efforts of Joseph Stern, IPDCP of Division 11,
permission has been granted for Friday, November 18 at 1300 hours to place a
wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington Cemetery in
Washington, DC.
2. Four (4) Auxiliarists will place a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown
Soldier.
3. Designation of the four (4) Auxiliarists will be determined at a
later date.
4. Any member wishing to attend can do so as a spectator for the
placing of the wreath. All members attending the wreath placing ceremony
will meet at Arlington Cemetery at 1100 hours.
5. Uniform for those members placing the wreath at the Tomb of the
Unknown Soldier will be Service Dress Blue Bravo with Combination Hat and
White Gloves.
6. Uniform for those members as spectators can be Service Dress Blue
Bravo, Winter Dress Blue, Tropical Blue Long, all with appropriate uniform
outer jacket or civilian dress.
7. In order to ensure that the event takes place at the designated time
(1300 hours on November 18) it is recommended that those members wishing to
attend drive down on Thursday, November 17. Each member planning on
attending will have to make his or her own hotel accommodations and vehicle
transportation.
8. This is a non-reimbursable expense. Please keep in mind that
car-pooling and hotel sharing is an option.
9. If you plan on attending, please RSVP to your Division Captain no
later than Friday, November 4 with your name, position, member number,
division and flotilla.
10. Division Captains are requested to provide Joseph Stern at
718.934.9546 with a list of those members wishing to attend.
3. The purpose of this list is to keep Auxiliarists in the First
Southern abreast of current developments, policies, manuals, etc.
